JLIC/Birthright Israel Winter Break Trip
Come back to Israel this winter break to study at your Yeshiva/Seminary and volunteer with JLIC!
January 3 – 10, 2025
Open to alumni from the following schools: MTVA, YTVA, Midreshet Harova, Yeshivat Orayta, Midreshet Nishmat, Midreshet Lindenbaum, Midreshet Eshel, Yeshivat Eretz HaTzvi and Yeshivat Hakotel

Cost: $50
Eligibility:
College students and recent grads! Even if you’ve already done a Gap Year, another OU-JLIC summer program, Onward, or Birthright — you’re eligible!
Volunteering Options:
Volunteer options will span from people facing work to agricultural farming. More specific options will be discussed in your interview with the volunteer program director.
What’s included?
- Flight reimbursement of $500-$900 (see more details below)
- 15% coupon on a direct flight to Israel with ElAl
- Accommodation at your yeshiva/seminary
- Shabbat with your yeshiva/seminary
- 5 days of volunteering (6 hrs a day)
- Morning or night seder at your yeshiva/seminary
- Paid transportation to volunteer sites and to/from airport
- Health insurance
- Support Staff
Flight Stipends:
- Reimbursements on flights will be provided by the program organizer to participants who have successfully completed their volunteer program.
- Arrange your own flight and get reimbursed as follows:
- North America & FSU: $700 USD
- Europe : $500 USD
- Latin America: $900 USD
- Other Countries: $700 USD
- The level of the reimbursement cannot surpass the cost of the ticket.
- You will need to present plane tickets and proof of purchase to the program organizer in order to receive your refund.
- Refunds will be carried out not approximately 6 weeks following program completion.
- An EL AL exclusive offer for 15% off on direct flights to Israel (code is available after you complete your application)
- Reimbursements are available for flights starting TBD
- Reimbursements for non-direct flights will only be processed for stop-overs that are less than 24 hours
- Reimbursements will only be processed for trips that are shorter than 4 months.
- If you choose to use points or receive a scholarship from another organization, we can only reimburse you for the money that you paid.

JLIC/Birthright Israel Summer Trips

- June 19th – 26th: All Women’s Trip
- August 5th – 12th: Co-ed Trip
- August 5th – 12th: All Men’s Trip

- 5 days of volunteering (6 hrs a day)
- Optional programming at night with your group

Group Flights :
- Students who have previously participated in a Birthright Volunteer Trip are eligible to join the program, but they are not eligible for the flight deal.
- Only SIJW participants and applicants who are not attending other SIJ programs directly before the volunteer trip will be eligible for this group flight.

The cost of the volunteer program with flights will be $600 which will be paid fully directly to Birthright ($50 of which is a non-refundable registration fee.)

In order to get this deal, participants must fly with their group to Israel, but they may change their return flight at their own expense.

Cancellation before the deadline (65 days) – applicants who are participating in groups with
flights can get a refund, minus $50 for registration. After the deadline, no refunds for flights
will be given. -
Applicants who wish to participate in the program but who do not wish to fly on the designated flight will be required to pay only a $50 non-refundable registration fee to Birthright Israel and will be defined as joining the group in Israel. This choice will be presented to you at the time of payment on your application.
