JLIC/Birthright Israel Winter Break Trip

Come back to Israel this winter break to study at your Yeshiva/Seminary and volunteer with JLIC!

Applications will open on September 15th! 

This program is open to the alumni of the following schools on these dates:

MTVA: January 2nd – January 9th, 2026

YTVA: January 2nd – January 9th, 2026

Orayta: January 8th – January 15th, 2026

HaRova: January 8th – January 15th, 2026

Lindenbaum: January 8th – January 15th, 2026

Registration Cost: $50 (Applications after Jan. 1st will be $150)

College students and recent grads! Even if you’ve already done a Gap Year, another OU-JLIC summer program, Onward, or Birthright — you’re eligible!

Volunteering Options: 

Volunteer options will span from people facing work to agricultural farming. More specific options will be discussed in your interview with the volunteer program director.

What’s included?

• Group flight for $600 **
• Shabbat dinner with your Seminary / Yeshiva in Jerusalem
• 5 days of volunteering (4-6 hrs a day)
• Social programming with your group
• Paid transportation to volunteer sites and to/from airport for those on the group flight
• Health insurance
• Support Staff

• The cost of the volunteer program including the group flight is $600 paid directly to Birthright. This also includes a $50 non-refundable registration fee.
• Applicants who wish to participate in the program but do not want to join the group flight (so they will book and pay for their flight themselves) will only be required to pay a $50 non-refundable registration fee to Birthright. This choice will be presented to you at the time of registration.
• Participants will also pay a $250 security deposit to JLIC.

• In order to get this deal, participants must fly with their group to Israel, but they may change their return flight at their own expense.
• If you previously participated in a Birthright Volunteer Trip (and received flight coverage), you are eligible to join the program but you are not eligible for the group flight. You will book your own flight and pay the registration fee exclusively.

• Cancellation policy: If you cancel before 65 days of the trip start date, you are entitled to a full refund (not including the $50 registration fee). If you cancel within 65 days of the trip start date, no refunds will be given.

Extensions:

•  Requests for flight extensions, cancellations or changes are managed by the Birthright Israel agent and must be submitted via the Birthright Israel App. Requests for change of return flight can be submitted in less than 48 hours however it is not guaranteed. It is highly recommended that extensions be arranged prior to departure as the seats, contract specifications, and specific class of service are subject to availability by the airlines.
• **PLEASE NOTE: All extensions will be subject to a  $150 travel agent fee**
  • You will be charged this amount at the beginning of your interaction with the travel agent but will be refunded it if you do not end up changing your ticket.
• The airline will need to know your E-ticket number, PNR code, list of possible return dates in order of preference (you should have more than one choice, as seats are limited), complete credit card details, a local telephone number in Israel, and an email address. Having the required information prior to calling will help expedite your request. You can get the PNR code and E-ticket number from your staff on your trip.
